From April to October, surfers flock to the Phuket beaches of Kata, Kalim, Surin, Nai Harn, and Bangtao to tackle the larger breaks brought on by the northwest monsoon. Now, Anantara Layan Phuket Resort & Spa has launched a Luxury Surfing Escape package to allow travelers to learn the sport or improve their wave-riding skills without sacrificing on creature comforts.

Through this offer, guests can enjoy a daily 90-minute surfing lesson in the waters off Bangtao Beach — just a short drive away from Anantara Layan — including daily return transfers. In addition to a complimentary gourmet surf picnic and daily breakfast, the package also saves you up to 25 percent on food and drinks and even 40 percent on spa treatments. Another perk? Early check-in at 10 a.m. and late checkout at 3 p.m.

Dining options at Anantara includes Age, which serves up sumptuous breakfasts and grilled premium meats (as well as freshly caught seafood) by night; signature Thai restaurant Dee Plee; and Breeze, where light bites are offered beside the pool. Meanwhile, the resort’s Mojito Factory is a pop-up beach bar whose menu reinvents the classic Cuban cocktail (think tom yum or larb mojitos). More wellness-minded travelers will want to relax after a day of surfing at Anantara’s spa — therapists here deliver muscle-melting massages using traditional Thai healing methods. The wellness center features seven treatment suites, a manicure and pedicure room, a hair and beauty salon, steam rooms, a relaxation area, and more.
