Indonesia-based travelers planning a nature-filled luxury getaway in the coming months may want to consider Aman Resorts’ new six-night itinerary between Bali and Sumbawa. Launched just this week, Journey Across the Sea incorporates stays at eastern Bali’s hillside Amankila and the famed Amanwana on Moyo Island, as well as a voyage aboard the group’s phinisi-inspired vessel, the Amandira.

The itinerary starts off at Amankila with a one-night stay in one of the resort’s 94-square-meter Ocean suites, which feature an outdoor terrace with a daybed that offers sweeping views of the Lombok Strait. Also included in the package? The airport pick-up, breakfast, and a credit of IDR 725,000 per suite to spend on food and drinks and spa treatments. Guests can relax at the beach club, indulge in one of the resort’s restaurants and bars, and add on off-site activities like cycling around Mount Agung.

The next part of the journey takes place aboard Amandira, a 52-meter private yacht that was custom-built on the beaches of South Sulawesi by Konjo artisans. Guests will embark on a three-night cruise across the Flores Sea to reach Amanwana on secluded Moyo Island, located off the northern coastline of Sumbawa. Complete with five ensuite cabins, a crew of 14, and onboard culinary and wellness experiences, this phinisi-inspired vessel promises a liveaboard experience with the Aman touch.

Travelers aboard the Amandira will get to enjoy a plethora of activities; these run the gamut from trekking and beach picnics to kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, as well as diving excursions led by the vessel’s experienced divemaster. After a long day out at sea, guests can relax with a massage delivered in the privacy of their cabin and tuck into a selection of Indonesian, Asian-inspired, and international dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. Drinks and canapes are also offered on the top deck, along with alfresco dinners beneath the stars.

Once the boat reaches Moyo Island, guests will settle into an Ocean tent at Amanwana for a two-night stay. Here, a network of nature trails allow holidaymakers to take in the isle’s cascading waterfalls, hidden caves, and birdlife, while more active visitors can challenge themselves with treks or mountain biking experiences. Below the waves, snorkelers and divers will delight in the area’s rich marine life. The waters off Moyo Island are frequented sea turtles, moray eels, pufferfish, parrotfish, spotted rays and many more species; travelers may even have the chance to swim with whale sharks in nearby Saleh Bay.

Aman’s Journey Across the Sea itinerary is also offered in reverse, with Amandira sailing from Moyo Island to Bali. Learn more about the package here.
