Aman junkies seeking out a flattering look that matches the pared-back elegance of their favorite hotel brand will get a kick out of The Essentials, which expresses the Aman ethos through a brand-new array of ready-to-wear pieces. The inaugural collection runs the gamut from breathable activewear and loungewear to monogrammed swimwear and soft accessories.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, The Essentials was inspired by the variety and beauty of Aman hotel locations worldwide, especially in the color palettes. A warm yellow recalls the desert landscapes of Utah that surround Amangiri, while blue and deep green nod to the Aegean and the olive groves near Amanzoe on the Peloponnese in Greece. Each piece is characterized by clean lines and subtle prints, with a versatility that allows it to be mixed and matched with other elements from the same collection. “We wanted The Essentials to be made up of pieces that guests can wear for years to come, at any Aman property,” says Kristina Romanova, Aman’s Director of Product Development.

The activewear collection includes training leggings, tops, shorts, and sports bras, using extra-fine microfiber elastane to ensure breathability and freedom of movement. All feature a motif derived from the “A” of the Aman logo. Men’s and women’s loungewear and knitwear were crafted in Japanese cotton and Italian cashmere with a relaxed fit; other items range from button-down blouses, shirt dresses, and linen trousers for casual wear to wrap dresses and palazzo trousers when the occasion demands more formal attire.

Made by artisanal brand Loro Piana, the Amanpuri heritage blanket pays tribute to the brand’s flagship resort in Phuket, with a screen-printed image of the property on cashmere trimmed with suede edging. Romanova adds, “We hope our guests will see the expression of the Aman brand in each and every piece, and we couldn’t be more excited to take the Aman retail experience to the next level.”

Still to come in the future will be a wider selection of must-have accessories. High-quality raw materials from tanneries from across France and Italy will be made into leather wallets, passport covers, and totes, and Italian goldsmiths are being recruited to create intricate jewelry pieces in both 18-carat yellow and white gold. Amangiri, Amangani, Amanjena, and Amanzoe are the first properties to carry The Essentials, and the brand plans to roll out the collection at more hotels soon.
